Frequently asked questions
If you have any questions that aren't answered below, please get in touch
WHAT AESTHETIC TREATMENTS DO YOU PROVIDE?
I currently provide advanced dermal filler, skin boosters, anti-wrinkle injections and advanced botox.
The dermal filler options I provide are:
revolax - this is a medium range filler and a lower cost alternative
teosyal - this is a premium range filler and a higher cost alternative.
I can order other brands if you want something specific, just let me know before you book.

Are you medically trained?

I am an NMC registered midwife. I have been a midwife for 12 years and an aesthetics practitioner for 5 years. I did my aesthetics training in Harley street and my advanced training with one of the most well known training academies in the uk. i always stay up to date with training and pride myself in making sure i am up to date with the latest guidance on injectables and a safe practitioner.

Are the treatments suitable for everyone?

Treatments wouldn't be suitable if you were under the age of 18 years, or had a known allergy or sensitivity to particular products or their ingredients, including local anaesthetics.
They also wouldn't be recommended for pregnant or breast-feeding women, or for those with skin infections near the areas requiring injection.
If you're taking certain treatments which affect blood clotting, such as Aspirin, Warfarin, Clopidogrel or Omega-3 oils, you should contact me about the suitability of the treatments for you.

Do the treatments hurt?

I use fine needles alongside my injectables, whilst also using a topical local anaesthetic to numb the area i am treating. The dermal fillers also contain a local anaesthetic which numbs the area as i undertake the treatment so i take every precaution to make it as comfortable as possible. having said this, it is not pain free so can be a little uncomfortable. the vast majority of people are able to tolerate it for the short time i am injecting.

What are the side effects of treatment?

they are injectable treatments, so you are at risk of developing side effects although not everyone does. the main ones are:
-
bruising
-
swelling
-
asymmetry during the healing process
-
lumps
-
tenderness/itching
-
feeling faint during the treatment

how long will the treatments last?

around 3-6 months for lip filler and longer for other dermal filler treatments. skin boosters can last between 6-12 months and botox has a life span of 12 weeks.

will i get a consultation first?

I will see you in clinic for a consultation prior to any treatment being undertaken. I need to make sure you are suitable for the treatment you want, and i also need to make sure that it is the right treatment for you. sometimes, after assessing your face we come up with a different treatment plan that is better suited to you. you can have your consultation and treatment in the same appointment for dermal fillers and skin boosters. please note that if you wish to book in for anti-wrinkle injections or advanced botox, you will need a consultation with my prescriber beforehand. please get in touch via email to arrange this.
